When it comes to how to divide decimals, then the scenario becomes all the more difficult. It is therefore division is the most complex among, all the 4 basic operations in mathematics. In fact, 1 needs to apply successive subtraction to carry out a division. But problem solving, which includes division of decimals, can be made simple by ensuring that the divisor is a whole number. This can also be done by shifting the decimal hence that the divisor becomes a whole number. However, to escape the ill-effects on the result of the problem, the dividend also, needs to be balanced & altered accordingly. This is the case if the divisor is a decimal. But first let us try to learn how to divide a decimal when the divisor is a whole number.

The procedure for the division of decimals is very comparable to the division of whole numbers. Make the divisor into a whole number by multiplying both it & the dividend by the same number such as 10, 100, 1000 etc... A simple method to do this is to move the decimal point to the right end of the divisor & move the decimal point of the dividend the same number of places.

The number line is a one-dimensional graph. A line is the collection of points, line is along a straight path & going to opposite direction, & also a line segment is part of a line, it’s having two end points. A ray also a part of line, 1 is endpoint and other side goes to one direction.

A line doesn’t have end point or starting point; imagine it is endless from both directions. A continuous extent of the length includes more than 2 points. We can put little arrows on both sides for understanding

Types of lines – Parallel line, Perpendicular line, Intersecting line are 3 types of line. straight-line, Transversal lines, Skew Lines, Concurrent lines, A line segment are other types of line.
